Grace Place welcomed the parents of our Academy of Leaders students into the classroom for an open house last week.  We had total 41 families attend! The open house gave parents an opportunity to observe and work with their children during program hours.

Substantial evidence exists showing there are many advantages for children when parents become more involved in their education.  Benefits include increased motivation for learning, improved behavior, more regular attendance and higher academic achievement overall.

Parents also benefit by developing a greater appreciation for the important role they play in their children’s education and become more confident about the value of their involvement.

“I was especially delighted to see so many engaged fathers working with their young children.  It was overall a good outcome and a wonderful opportunity for the children and parents,” commented Karina Sierra, Academy of Leaders Site Coordinator.
