“Working for a Bio-Tech company is definitely not something that the majority of teenagers will ever do; I get to set up experiments for ACTUAL scientists!” -Alex, AP Leader
We are getting reports back from many of our rising senior AP Leaders on the exciting opportunities they are taking advantage of this summer. Today we chose to highlight the accomplishments of Alex. Alex is a rising senior at Golden Gate High School. At the encouragement of our AP Leadership Coordinator, Mary LeVine, Alex applied for the week-long Florida Gulf Coast University Summer STEM Camp, to which he was accepted. One of the companies the STEM Camp visited was Algenol Biofuels. At the close of camp, Algenol Biofuels selected three females and three males of the forty students attending the camp to interview for a paid summer internship. After the interview process was complete, Alex was informed he had been selected for the internship! We are so proud of Alex and all of our AP Leaders for their hard work and accomplishments this summer!
