The AP Leadership program recently took a team-building trip to Riverside Retreat Center in LaBelle, FL. The group of 22 high school students worked together to complete  C.O.P.E. (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) courses focusing on core lessons in teamwork, communication, trust, leadership, decision making, problem solving and self-esteem. Working as a team, the students were asked to make decisions by developing one or more solutions to a specific obstacle, problem, or initiative. They had to consider all the available resources and alternatives, and evaluate the probable results before moving forward. Utilizing their communication skills and their developed trust between one another, they stepped outside the box and used creative ideas to come to a solution.
