Bright Beginnings 201: Empowering Parents for Success

We’re thrilled to announce the start of this year’s Bright Beginnings 201 program, a key part of our mission to support parents in building strong futures for their families. The Bright Beginnings 201 class is designed for parents who have made a deep commitment to their own growth, attending classes four days a week. In addition to parenting lessons, these dedicated individuals participate in daily English classes taught by our incredible volunteer teachers.

This year marks an exciting milestone for the program. We’re serving the diverse needs of Golden Gate City with the largest number of Haitian students we’ve ever had, and for the first time, we have a father enrolled in Bright Beginnings 201! His participation underscores the importance of empowering both mothers and fathers in our community, helping to shape strong, supportive family environments.

Another unique aspect of this year’s class is the range of literacy skills among our students. A number of participants are facing challenges with low literacy and even illiteracy. This presents a powerful opportunity for us to work hand-in-hand to create lasting change, ensuring every parent has the tools they need to thrive, both as individuals and as role models for their children.

Through a combination of parenting education and English instruction, the Bright Beginnings 201 program is more than a class—it’s a journey toward greater confidence, independence, and success. We’re proud to walk this path with such a committed and diverse group of parents, and we can’t wait to see how they grow in the year ahead!
