CMON Partners with Grace Place for STEAM-Powered Learning

We are excited to share that the Children’s Museum of Naples (CMON) recently visited Grace Place to kick off the first of five scheduled lessons based on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathmatics (STEAM) with our Bright Beginnings 3 and 4-year-olds. This series of hands-on, interactive sessions are designed to complement our literacy curriculum, making learning both engaging and educational for our youngest students.

The first lesson focused on clouds, and the students explored the different shapes and types of clouds, learning how they form and produce rain. To bring the science to life, the children participated in experiments that helped them understand concepts like condensation and precipitation in a fun and accessible way. Each CMON session includes a story, and this one featured It Looked Like Spilt Milk by Charles G. Shaw. The story perfectly complemented the hands-on activity, allowing our little learners to connect what they heard with what they saw and did during the lesson.

This partnership with CMON is an incredible asset to our program. Their STEAM lessons are a great addition to our focus on literacy, encouraging critical thinking and creativity in our young students. As an added bonus, all our families have been invited to a special VPK evening museum visit at CMON in October, giving them the chance to explore the museum together.

We’re so grateful for partners like CMON who support our mission to provide quality education to our students, and we can’t wait to see what the next lessons bring!
