Four Year Olds Visit Kindergarten

As the academic year draws to a close, Grace Place organized a special outing for our four-year-olds, providing them with an exciting glimpse into their future kindergarten experience. Accompanied by teachers and staff, the children embarked on a journey to Golden Terrace Elementary School. This field trip aimed to familiarize them with the school environment, routines, and facilities, ensuring a smooth transition to kindergarten.

The children were then introduced to a kindergarten classroom, where they observed a portion of the morning routine. From circle time to story reading, they saw firsthand the engaging activities that await them in the upcoming school year.

Following the classroom experience, the students got to explore the school’s campus. They visited the library and discovered the shelves of new books, trinkets, and puzzles they will get to read and play with next year. They also saw the playground, music room, and capped off the visit with a snack in the cafeteria.

This preview to the kindergarten experience planted the seeds of confidence and excitement as the 4-year-olds and their families prepare to embark on this new chapter. With the support of Grace Place’s elementary after-school program, these young students will not only excel in kindergarten, but will build solid foundations for the rest of their academic journeys.
