The 2nd Annual Dodge for a Cause was more than just a high-energy dodgeball tournament—it was a celebration of community, creativity, and commitment to educational equity. From the Halstatt Havoc to the Manatee Cove Maniacs, teams showed up dressed to impress and ready to dip, dive, duck, and dodge—all in support of the life-changing programs at Grace Place for Children and Families.

One of the standout moments of the event came from Dodge Dynasty, who stayed in full character throughout the entire competition. Their enthusiasm and dedication to their theme brought an extra layer of joy to the day and reminded everyone that fun and philanthropy can go hand-in-hand.

The reigning champs, the Suffolk Dodgers, defended their title with skill and heart. Their team captain delivered a heartfelt speech, reminding everyone that even while having fun, we can make a lasting impact by giving back to our community. It was a powerful message that set the tone for the day.

And the impact? It’s real. This year’s event raised over $6,000, which will directly benefit Grace Place programs that offer full-circle educational support for children and families in the Golden Gate community. From early childhood learning and after-school programs to adult education and family literacy, every dollar raised helps build brighter futures.

We extend our deepest thanks to our generous sponsors—Halstatt, Big Orange Splot, and Lee County Electric Cooperative—and to every player, spectator, and supporter who brought passion, purpose, and energy to the court.

Together, we’re proving that when a community unites, education wins—and lives are transformed.
