Meet the Teacher & Parent Night

We were thrilled to welcome more than 100 parents of our after-school students to our recent Meet the Teacher & Parent Night for an evening of connection, community, and learning. Families enjoyed dinner, met their children’s teachers, and learned about what’s ahead this school year.

A highlight of the evening was a presentation from a guest speaker, an immigration lawyer, who shared important information and answered parents’ questions. It was an engaging discussion that reinforced the value of advocacy, understanding legal rights, and supporting children as a family.

As a family literacy center, Grace Place believes it’s essential to involve parents in their children’s education. Events like this give parents the chance to connect with teachers, understand the curriculum, and see firsthand the ways their children are learning and growing. Family engagement isn’t just encouraged—it’s at the heart of everything we do. When parents are actively involved, children thrive both academically and personally.

We’re grateful for our families’ commitment and partnership, and evenings like this remind us how important it is to work together to support every child’s learning journey.
