Change a Story. Change a Life.
Every day at Grace Place, volunteers help create opportunities that extend far beyond the hours they serve.
Volunteers are an essential part of our mission to provide pathways out of poverty through education. Through their time, encouragement, and commitment, they help children, adults, and families gain the skills, confidence, and support needed to reach their goals and build brighter futures.
Volunteers play an important role in supporting students at every stage of Grace Place’s educational journey. In our Bright Beginnings early childhood program, volunteers assist teachers as preschool-aged children develop the foundational skills needed for success in kindergarten and beyond. In our Elementary School Program, volunteers help foster academic enrichment, character development, and foundational skills for lifelong learning. In our Middle School Program, volunteers support students through academic assistance, leadership development,
career exploration, and enrichment opportunities. In our High School Program, volunteers provide mentoring and encouragement while helping students navigate college and career planning, set goals, and build a path toward future success.
Many volunteers choose to support our Family Literacy and Adult Education programs, where they help English language learners build confidence and communication skills that open doors to new opportunities for themselves and their families. No prior teaching experience is required, and training is provided.
Beyond education, volunteers also play a critical role in our Family Food Distribution program, helping register families, distribute food, and create a welcoming experience for neighbors facing food insecurity. Others lend their talents through office support, special events, campus projects, and seasonal initiatives that help keep Grace Place running smoothly throughout the year.
When you volunteer at Grace Place, you’re helping a child succeed in school, supporting a parent pursuing new opportunities, and strengthening families across our community. Most importantly, you’re becoming part of a story of transformation and helping create pathways out of poverty through education.
