Our Grace Place AP Leader, Arletys, has been awarded the Comcast Leaders & Achievers Scholarship. Arletys started volunteering at Grace Place three years ago and was selected as an AP Leader last year, her junior year at Golden Gate High School. Only one student from each high school was allowed to apply for the Scholarship and she was selected. She was selected because of her vast achievements and her interest in business. Arletys had to write an essay detailing how she’s been a leader in her life, something we’ve seen her exhibit frequently in her time at Grace Place as a volunteer and an AP Leader.
Arletys will start college next fall. She has already been accepted to multiple colleges including Florida International University, Florida Gulf Coast University, University of South Florida, University of North Florida, Eckerd College and The Catholic University of America. She is still awaiting word from a few others. When asked what she intends to study in school Arletys replied, “I intend to major in International Business and minor in a foreign language. Then I plan to work in a multinational corporation for a while. I would also like to go to graduate school and attain my M.B.A.”
