A Summer of Discovery and Learning

This summer, Grace Place’s Adventure Academy was more than just a camp—it was a launchpad for discovery, growth, and joy. For elementary students, each day was a new adventure filled with hands-on learning, laughter, and unforgettable experiences. A highlight of the camp was a series of educational field trips that brought these lessons to life, so our campers didn’t just learn—they lived their lessons.

Students visited the Naples Zoo, where they learned about animal biology, habitats, and conservation efforts. At the Children’s Museum of Naples, campers explored interactive exhibits that reinforced science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts in fun and engaging ways. Another visit to the Conservancy of Southwest Florida deepened their understanding of local ecosystems and environmental stewardship — including an exciting boat ride that gave campers a firsthand experience of the environment.

Throughout the program, Grace Place balanced academic content with opportunities for creativity, teamwork, and physical activity, ensuring a well-rounded experience. This approach also helps prevent the “summer slide,” the common loss of academic skills during summer break. Our campers returned from each field trip inspired and ready to apply their new knowledge in discussions, projects, and daily activities.

Adventure Academy was designed to prevent the “summer slide,” but it did so much more. It reignited curiosity, nurtured resilience, and sent children back to school not just prepared—but empowered. They returned energized, confident, and ready to take on new challenges, knowing that learning can be an adventure worth embracing every single day.
