A Summer of Discovery and Learning

This summer, Grace Place’s Adventure Academy summer camp offered elementary students an exciting summer filled with academic learning and real-world exploration. Our curriculum engaged young minds with hands-on lessons that connected classroom learning to the world around them.

A highlight of the camp was a series of educational field trips that brought these lessons to life. Students visited the Naples Zoo, where they learned about animal biology, habitats, and conservation efforts. At the Children’s Museum of Naples, campers explored interactive exhibits that reinforced science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts in fun and engaging ways. Another visit to the Conservancy of Southwest Florida deepened their understanding of local ecosystems and environmental stewardship — including an exciting boat ride that gave campers a firsthand experience of the environment.

Throughout the program, Grace Place balanced academic content with opportunities for creativity, teamwork, and physical activity, ensuring a well-rounded experience. This approach also helps prevent the “summer slide,” the common loss of academic skills during summer break. Our campers returned from each field trip inspired and ready to apply their new knowledge in discussions, projects, and daily activities.

By combining academic learning with hands-on experiences, Grace Place helped students develop critical thinking, curiosity, and a love of learning — skills that will serve them well in the coming school year and beyond.
