Career Exploration at Lorenzo Walker Technical College
At Grace Place, we believe that education becomes truly meaningful when students are given the opportunity to connect classroom concepts with real-world experiences. That belief came to life during a recent visit to Lorenzo Walker Technical College, where 17 of our freshmen and sophomores participated in an immersive career exploration experience designed to spark curiosity and inspire future aspirations.
Students rotated through four dynamic career fields—Technology, Healthcare, Veterinary Science, and Transportation—engaging in hands-on activities that showcased the skills and knowledge required in each profession. From learning basic coding and engineering techniques, to trying out medical simulations and interacting with veterinary tools, our students were able to gain a firsthand look at the possibilities that lie ahead.
These experiences didn’t just educate—they ignited interest. Exposure to these fields allowed students to better understand their own strengths and interests, while also helping them envision tangible paths they might pursue after high school. More than just a field trip, this visit was a step toward building purpose, confidence, and clarity about the future.
We are deeply grateful to Lorenzo Walker Technical College for opening their doors and providing our students with this invaluable learning opportunity. Experiences like these underscore the importance of hands-on education and the role it plays in shaping informed, empowered learners.
