Grace Place Earns Leader in Me Lighthouse Organization Certification from FranklinCovey
2019 is off to a momentous start! We are happy to announce we are officially a Leader in Me Lighthouse Organization. This honor makes Grace Place the first of its’ kind in the world to fully integrate FranklinCovey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and its leadership principles into all its programs and services. “The dedication and commitment of Grace Place over the past four years to transform itself into a leadership driven organization has earned us this esteemed designation,” said Dr. Tim Ferguson, Chief Executive Officer.
For two days, Grace Place hosted the Lighthouse Certification Team from FranklinCovey whose task was to review all our programs provided for evidence of application. Some examples are our new Leadership Tree Mural and the 7 Habits flags scattered throughout campus. Those reminders empower our students with the leadership and life skills they need to thrive in the future. Leader in Me helps students learn how to become self-reliant, take initiative, plan ahead, set and track goals, do their homework, prioritize their time, manage their emotions, be considerate of others, express their viewpoint persuasively, resolve conflicts, find creative solutions, value differences, and live a balanced life. Our children then take those home and cause a ripple effect to other members of the family, making it a win-win.
“Grace Place is honored to have achieved the highest designation and to serve as a model and resource to others committed to developing everyone’s leadership potential.” Dr. Tim Ferguson.
