Grace Place for Children and Families is pleased to announce a $20,000 matching gift challenge has been extended to all Grace Place volunteers by a very generous Grace Place donor and long-time volunteer.   During the Volunteer Matching Gift Challenge, taking place now through January 31, all gifts to Grace Place from a volunteer will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $20,000!  The gifts received from the challenge will be utilized to advance Grace Place’s mission of teaching literacy, language and life skills to children and families at-risk in Golden Gate city.

Gifts to any annual operating fund are eligible for the match.  Volunteers are welcome to designate their gifts to the program area in which they volunteer.  The matching amount will go to the annual operating fund, which helps sustain the organization’s educational programs in the areas of greatest need.

“Grace Place is a volunteer driven organization. Over 200 volunteers dedicate two to four hours of their time weekly.  In addition, over 500 volunteers give their time throughout the year.  The goal of this campaign is to provide our volunteers a special giving opportunity for them to increase their effect on the program area where they already give an enormous amount of time,” commented Grace Place Director of Development, Barbara Evans.  “We are most grateful for the donor who offered such a strategic gift.  As evidenced by this gift, Grace Place’s volunteers are committed to our mission.”

“We see the generosity of our volunteers every day.  This matching gift challenge is an exciting way for them to see their investments double and to make a greater impact,” remarked Stephanie Munz Campbell, Executive Director, Grace Place.

This is the first time that a matching gift challenge has been issued strictly to the Grace Place volunteers.  There is already a buzz on campus and we are thrilled to see the excitement of opportunity build.
